Ekphrastic 6/ Andrej Pejic

Are you that first child found
your beauty garbage-hung
wraith
your beauty makes you ghostly and
we can’t name you
we don’t understand you yet there
you stand
and we make our last
and you take what is yours
the earth grasped by hands ungraspable
neithermore

Inspired by a real-live wraeththu. (A wraeththu being the androgynous evolutionaries of Storm Constantine’s series).

[Ekphrasis is art in reaction to art. Basically. And I don’t think about the art I consume enough. And I haven’t been writing poetry as much as I should. So every Friday, I’ll post an ekphrastic poem about whatever art I’ve been eating lately (books, poetry, anime, paintings, films, so on).]
